Temporary Classrooms Modular School Buildings
With so many school resources stretched to capacity, especially classrooms, the answer is in modular school buildings. Cost-effective and quick to install, portable classroom buildings can provide singular or double classroom units, nursery buildings or changing rooms and additional purpose-built curriculum spaces for art, sports or more.
Planning Applications and Building Regulations
With years of experience in the industry, we know all the regulations and legalities and can guide you through the process of planning applications and building regulations, or we can manage the whole procedure for you with our complete turnkey service.
With a wide range of cladding options to choose from, you can select an aesthetically pleasing option to help your portable classroom look as if it’s always been there. With different timber options at various price points, brick slip cladding – to match your traditional main building – or Clad-ex for a new portable building, our cladding options keep your building energy-efficient.
Cabin Transport and Relocation
All of our modular buildings are manufactured offsite and then transported and installed on your site with the shortest possible lead time. As our modular buildings are portable, they can also be relocated and reassembled if needed – meeting the evolving needs of the educational establishment.
If you already have a portable modular building that is starting to look a bit tired, then we’re also skilled at refurbishing. If you are constrained by a budget, then you could also consider one of our refurbished buildings which is much less expensive than a new modular building.
All of the foundation preparation, installation of mains services, ducting and drainage will be taken care of by our skilled engineers, giving you peace of mind that it will be professionally installed and fully compliant.
What are the Benefits of Using MPB Temporary Classrooms?
Schools regularly face demands created by changing curriculum needs and larger than normal year groups, and traditional building extensions are very costly and time consuming to build. A modular classroom offers a wide selection of benefits for educational establishments of every type.
All of MPB’s modular buildings are constructed from top-quality materials, which are able to meet building regulations and will last for decades even though they’re considered to be temporary constructions.
Often the requirement for more space comes upon a school suddenly, and there isn’t time to construct a traditional extension. A modular classroom is able to provide additional teaching spaces in an extremely short amount of time.
As easy as they are to install, it is also not a problem to dismantle, remove or relocate a modular building, making them an incredibly flexible option for the need for more classroom areas. They’re built to withstand high levels of wear and tear.
Quick and Easy to Construct
Modular buildings are not constructed of traditional bricks and mortar, and as they are constructed offsite and then transported as a unit onto the prepared area on the premises, they are extremely quick to install – avoiding disruption to the school.
We aim to make every modular classroom bespoke to the needs of the teachers and students who will be using it – ensuring an ideal environment for a fulfilling educational experience. We endeavour to ensure the building meets your exact specifications.
Our modular buildings are able to be created from more energy-efficient materials than traditional buildings and these in turn help schools to reduce operating costs and the carbon footprint of the school, nursery or university.
Step 01 – Design Phase
The first step is when we work with you to create the design of the modular building that you’re looking for and the production of a quote. After this, we visit your site to check for any access issues.
Step 02 – Planning and Compliance
The next step is to apply for a planning application, which you can do yourself or avail yourself of our turnkey service in which we do the paperwork for you. This can take 8 – 12 weeks to be approved and then a building regulation application will be applied for.
Step 03 – Groundworks and Manufacture
While the building is being manufactured offsite, the groundwork to prepare the area can begin on your site, including mains services, ducting and drainage. By running both processes simultaneously a large amount of time is saved.
Step 04 – Installation
At this point in the process, your building is delivered to your site along with all the equipment and engineers needed for a speedy installation. The exterior and interior fittings are all carried out.
Step 05 – Snagging and Handover
The snagging checks are made and then completed to your satisfaction, at which point the keys and all building certificates are handed over to you – and your new modular classroom is ready to be used.
Turnkey Project Services
We are extremely proud to offer a comprehensive 360 degree service. Our aim is to take any stress of procuring a modular classroom away from the client. We have vast experience in taking a project from a concept design, through planning and building regulation applications – to manufacture and finally handover. Our team is always on hand to answer any questions you may have. This could be asking where your project currently stands, or to accept any input, should you wish to discuss a possible change or alteration.
